The advertisement depicts the Volkswagen company as the evil empire trying to destroy planet Earth. Greenpeace invites people to join the rebellion

The advertisement was first released in 2011 when Volkswagen opposed new regulations of the European union concerning reduction of CO2 emission. The advertisement is becoming interesting again due to the scandal with Volkswagen's software that fakes reduction of CO2 emission from their cars.
