UFC 178 will also feature the re-match of Jones vs. Gustafsson, the return of Dominick Cruz set against Takeya Mizugaki and a middleweight bout Kennedy vs. Romero.

The former contender for the UFC women’s bantamweight championship Cat Zingano will return to the octagon to face Amanda Nunes at UFC 178 on September 27th in Las Vegas. The fight comes after year and a half break for Zingano, who suffered a knee injury which required surgery. Zingano was going to fight Ronda Rousey for the title and coach TUF 18, but was replaced by Miesha Tate. Since, Rousey will also be out for the rest of the year due to a hand injury, a fight against Amanda Nunes would be a perfect opportunity for Zingano to prepare for the title challenge.

However, Nunes is in no way an easy opponent. She is 2-0 in her UFC career, 9-3 overall MMA record and 100% finishing rate, ending 8 of the 9 victories with KO/TKO. Cat Zingano, on the other hand is undefeated with 8-0 in pro MMA, 7 of which ended with finishes. Her record includes an impressive 3 rd round TKO victory over Miesha Tate from last year. Nunes’ strongest victory comes against Germaine de Randamie, who she finished with TKO in the first round. It is still not clear how the injury will affect Zingano’s performance, but based on the previous record it seems that Zingano is a narrow favorite over Nunes. Give us your opinion about who will win this fight.
